Kimberly A. Hurtado is the founder and managing shareholder of Hurtado Zimmerman SC, Counselors at Law. Her practice focuses on domestic and international negotiation of construction contracts and complex commercial construction dispute resolution.

Hurtado is named in Martindale Hubbell’s National Bar Register of AV Preeminent Attorneys – Judicial Edition, placing her in the top 1% of attorneys across all practice areas, and is recognized as a Thought Leader in Who’s Who International – Construction. She is a Fellow and board member of the American College of Construction Lawyers, a Founding Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and a Fellow of the Wisconsin Bar Foundation.

She has served as chair of Division 5 and as a governing committee member of the American Bar Association Construction Forum. As chair of the State Bar of Wisconsin Construction and Public Contract Law Section, she led the Lien Law Committee that rewrote Chapter 779 of the Wisconsin Statutes governing private and public lien and bond rights.

Hurtado also serves as a professor in the Graduate Program at The School of Architecture in Scottsdale, Arizonia, teaching the ethics of construction contracting, and lectures and writes internationally on construction technology, regenerative design, clean energy transition and ethics.
