Lauren Maddente, shareholder at Fox, O’Neill & Shannon, S.C., has established herself as a skilled litigator since joining the Milwaukee firm in 2016.

Maddente earned her J.D., cum laude, from Marquette University Law School and began her career in the firm’s commercial transactions group. She quickly discovered her talent for litigation and became known as the firm’s “Small Claims Trial Queen,” maintaining an undefeated record in small claims cases.

After transitioning to a primarily litigation practice, Maddente has handled significant cases across multiple areas. She recently participated in a weeklong federal jury trial that resulted in a $218,000 breach of contract verdict for her client. In another weeklong jury trial involving a $1.8 million personal injury case, she obtained a substantial reduction in her client’s potential liability under comparative negligence principles.

Maddente became a shareholder at Fox, O’Neill & Shannon in 2022 by unanimous vote after only five years in practice. She has since developed a growing niche in trust and estate and fiduciary litigation, representing beneficiaries and trustees in contested probate administrations, litigating contested trusts and wills, and handling cases involving allegations of undue influence.

Beyond her legal practice, Maddente serves as president of the Association for Women Lawyers and mentors the firm’s newest attorneys. She maintains an open-door policy that encourages questions and collaboration among young professionals. Maddente has provided pro bono legal services at the Milwaukee Justice Center and participated in the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association’s Mentorship Program.

In the community, Maddente served on the Junior Board of Aids Resource Center of Wisconsin and as past co-chair of the Susan G. Komen Milwaukee Walk’s Volunteer and Entertainment Committees.
