Similar to surgeons or CPAs, Anthony Menting believes that divorce lawyers must be clinical and objective. While he acknowledges the emotional aspects of family law, Menting helps his clients navigate them by clearly detailing outcomes and managing unrealistic expectations.
Menting, a partner at Stafford Rosenbaum’s Madison office, focuses his practice on divorce, mediation, and estate planning. He’s a past president of American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers.
When crafting parenting plans, Menting prioritizes the emotional well-being of children by ensuring consistency and structure. His approach is guided by the notion that the attorney’s involvement with the family will come to an end, but the parents’ relationships will continue indefinitely.
“Parents and their children will experience life’s joys and difficulties such as birthdays, graduations, marriages, car accidents, etc.” Menting said. “While we must represent our clients’ interests, we must do so in a manner that respects the parents’ lifelong relationships with each other and their children.”
