From clerking for former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Louis Butler, Jr. and practicing at a high-caliber law firm, to opening her solo practice in 2012 and sitting on the bench for Racine Municipal Court, Rebecca Mason’s diverse career has been anything but mundane.
“So many women question themselves and don’t give themselves enough credit for how good they are,” Mason said. “The law is tough. It’s easy to think you’re not as good as you are.”
Rebecca Mason Law is based on Racine, focusing on estate planning, estate administration and guardianship matters. Mason’s goal in narrowing her practice specialty was to become a trusted expert for families and individuals during one of the most trying times in everyone’s lives — death.
Not only is she a client advocate, Mason is also actively involved in her community. She is the past president of the Racine County Bar Association and past chair of United Way of Racine County Board of Directors. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Racine Literacy Council and Racine Zoological Gardens, among other posts.
“I think it’s critically important for attorneys to be involved. Most nonprofits can benefit from having an attorney on their board,” Mason said. “It’s a way to see how things are really working for my neighbors and fellow Racine residents.”
