Justice Rebecca Frank Dallet serves on the Wisconsin Supreme Court with a deep commitment to public service and equal justice under the law. Her career has been driven by the Jewish principle of Tikkun Olam – repairing the world – which has guided her work in public interest law throughout Wisconsin’s court system.

Since joining the Supreme Court in 2018, Justice Dallet has made significant contributions to improving access to justice and addressing systemic inequities. As the court’s liaison to the Access to Justice Commission, she works to ensure unrepresented low-income Wisconsin residents can navigate the civil justice system. This volunteer organization develops initiatives to make legal services more accessible to vulnerable populations.

One of her most notable accomplishments has been creating and co-chairing the Race, Equity, Inclusion and Access Sub-Committee of the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. Under her leadership, the committee has worked to eliminate systemic barriers to racial and ethnic fairness in the criminal justice system. Their achievements include successfully diversifying jury panels and implementing educational programs about implicit bias in decision-making.

Dallet began her career as a prosecutor, advocating for the rights of victims. Since being elected to the Circuit Court and later to the Supreme Court, Dallet has approached her judicial responsibilities with a strong sense of duty to uphold the constitution, ensure the rule of law and serve justice with integrity and independence.

Beyond her judicial work, Justice Dallet takes pride in being a role model for her three daughters, actively supporting women in their pursuit of leadership positions, including public office.

She cites Justice Ann Walsh Bradley, a 29-year veteran of the Wisconsin Supreme Court, as both a mentor and inspiration, noting Bradley’s persistence in protecting citizens’ rights despite significant challenges.

Through her various roles and initiatives, Justice Dallet continues to work toward her goal of ensuring equal justice and improving Wisconsin’s legal system for all residents.
