Jason Payne is well-known in the legal industry for his commitment to excellence.
Payne is a shareholder and attorney with Nyhan, Bambrick, Kinzie & Lowry. He has extensive experience working with clients to manage, control and reduce their risk and exposure in workers’ compensation and employee workers’ compensation fraud matters.
He has defended employers in both Wisconsin and Illinois, operating across all levels of insurance.
Payne has clients in transportation and warehousing, manufacturing, health care, municipalities and school districts. He provides them with efficient and innovative solutions that he constructs using his more than 29 years of experience in the field.
Payne began his legal career as a prosecutor for the Cook County (Illinois) State’s Attorney’s office, where he gained significant trial experience and mastered the rules of evidence. He is admitted to practice in Wisconsin, Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
“Jason embraces the complexity of the cases he works with while pursuing excellence and developing meaningful relationships with his fellow attorneys on the case, as he believes a practice of law should be an environment of positive energy to benefit both sides of the matter,” said Christine Askew, IT and marketing coordinator at Nyhan.
At Nyhan, Payne is the leader of the firm’s billing school, where he teaches new employees how to properly enter their time and bill accordingly. This interaction with new hires allows him to provide a great first impression of the firm’s personnel and creates a one-on-one space for him to provide guidance to those who are fresh to the firm.
Payne has also given presentations on various aspects of workers’ compensation defense law, including the management of catastrophic claims and how to investigate, evaluate, settle and handle the case at trial.
