James Brzezinski’s legal career has been driven by a deep commitment to helping those facing life’s most difficult challenges. He is a managing partner of the Milwaukee-based Tabak Law, where his primary area of practice is in veterans’ benefits.
After graduating from law school in 2011, Brzezinski joined the firm as an associate, making equity partner two years later in 2013. Brzezinski’s efforts aided in transforming a small practice into a thriving firm that has helped thousands of individuals secure veterans’ disability benefits from the federal government. His dedication to veterans followed him to the firm after previously working in veteran administration for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
Although his current focus is on veterans’ benefits, Brzezinski’s past work includes successful representation in Social Security disability and workers’ compensation claims, where his creative legal strategies consistently deliver results.
“He truly believes in what he does and is a strong advocate for his clients,” said Lauren Zwirlein, a partner at the firm.
Brzezinksi’s legal skills are complemented by his innate kindness, humor and humbleness. These qualities make him a calming and approachable presence for clients, employees and colleagues.
Beyond his legal work, Brzezinski continues to make a broader impact on the community by volunteering with the Tiny House Project in Milwaukee, helping to provide housing for veterans in need. In 2023, he donated $100,000 to the Center for Veterans Issues on behalf of Tabak Law, further solidifying his commitment to veterans’ welfare.
“Jim is not one to tout his successes and instead focuses his time and energy on doing as much good as possible. For this reason, his accomplishments have been a bit under the radar,” said Zwirlein.
