Erica Marty started working at Stafford Rosenbaum in 1995 as an office services assistant. From the start, she made a big impression.

After a mere two years, Marty had been promoted to a floating assistant. She later rose up the ranks to standard legal assistant, a position she holds to this day. Marty is a go-to for questions and extra help. She often takes new employees under her wing and offers training and guidance.

“From extreme professionalism and dedication to an exemplary degree of reliability and intellect, Erica has wowed the firm for 24 years,” said Jacob Gardner, Stafford Law administration assistant for human resources and business development. “She is dependable, a beam of sunshine in the office, and friendly with all of her colleagues.”

Marty said the hardest part of her job is working for more than one attorney.

“It helps that the attorneys I work for specialize in similar practice areas, so the workload flows well with a lot of common tasks among them,” she said.

Marty is a volunteer at The Foundation for Black Women’s Wellness, a Wisconsin nonprofit organization that works to eliminate health disparities and barriers affecting the lives of black women and girls.

She is also one of the wellness and ambassadors for a weekly walking group in downtown Madison.

“I also enjoy participating in local charity 5K run/walks, attending concerts and sporting events, and traveling with my husband, Dave,” she said.

Gardner praised Marty’s commitment to her colleagues.

“All around, Erica is an engaged, caring, and a reliable friend, colleague and community member,” he said.
