Sharon Manlick wears a myriad of hats at Axley Brynelson; maybe none more important than chief morale booster.

In addition to her duties as a human resources officer for the entire firm, she handles IT coordination, marketing and events, building management, accounting and general operations of the Waukesha office.

“On top of everything else, she is a morale boost,” said Nancy Wilson, a partner at Axley. “Our attorneys and staff rely heavily on Sharon and she never disappoints, whether it is pitching in on a file that has a deadline to making sure the lines of communication are always open with everyone in the office. She comes in on weekends and works late at night to make sure our office functions without disruptions. I interact everyday with her on all of the above issues and she always has a smile on her face and is willing to help no matter what.”

Manlick enjoys that her variety of responsibilities allows her to make a difference for those who need support during difficult times.

“I strive to keep things moving forward in whatever that means for success, meeting deadlines and providing an excellent work product,” she said. “It is about finding ways to thrive more and thinking outside the box.”

Manlick previously served as the office manager of Murn & Martin, and she remained on the staff when they joined Axley in 2012. Over the past 13 years, she went from being an officer manager to an operations manager.

She not only handles an impressive workload but also strives to make her colleagues feel valued. And she genuinely cares about their well-being. No matter how busy she is, Manlick always finds time to help those in need.

For the past few years, the firm even set up a special day for Manlick, to celebrate her and all that she does to contribute to her colleagues’ lives.

Her motivation to work hard every day comes from her son, who has Fragile X, a cognitive-impairment syndrome.

“To have my son see all the things I do, that I have accomplished and the things I have failed at, even when I am scared or feeling anxious, I can confidently say, ‘I did my best and am proud of myself,’” Manlick said.
