Estate planning? There’s an app for that

Listen to this article

There really is an app for everything – even estate planning.

A tech company has released an estate planning app which allows attorneys to customize an application that clients can use to manage their estates.

App Order executive director Trev Gore said that for $1,200 the company can re-format its “Save Your Booty” pirate-themed inventory app for attorneys.

The app allows clients to list items in their estate along with information such as the original value, photographs and whom they wish to be the recipient of the item.

The items in the estate can then be organized by recipient, value or type of item.

The Nevada-based company has customized the app for local law firms for Android smartphones, but could also build an app for the iPhone platform, Gore said.

Firms can then offer an app featuring the firm’s name and contact information for free to clients.

The company is known for its “reporting apps,” which allow citizens to engage with municipalities and local government about issues like graffiti, as well as apps that help bail bondsmen track their clients.
