With all of the other legislation that gets chewed up and spit out in Madison on an annual basis, it’s shocking that there hasn’t been a law passed that legalizes office sports pools. But one could be on the way, thanks to a pair of Wisconsin legislators, who presumably enjoy picking the occasional upset during March Madness. While the release makes light of the notion that most people are more concerned with their brackets getting busted rather than getting busted by police, the bill is still in the drafting stage and won’t be in place for this year’s tournament which tips off today at 11:30 a.m. So for at least one more year, people in Wisconsin will covertly collect their $5 entry fees and disseminate their brackets, or brazenly broadcast their picks to co-workers in the face of a fine or imprisonment. Now, who did I have going to the Final Four?
