It’s no secret that the rivalry between Marquette and UW-Madison runs both deep and wide, although the most public competition tends to take place on the basketball court each year.
Both schools grab their fair share of headlines, but throughout the last two years, Marquette has certainly dominated the attention of the legal profession with construction of its new law complex.
So it seemed interesting that on the same day Eckstein Hall was formally dedicated in grand fashion, UW-Law School Dean Kenneth B. Davis, Jr. announced he will step down next fall and return to teaching at the school.

Having attended neither Marquette nor UW as an undergraduate, I can objectively appreciate a little gamesmanship, if that was the case.
But it also could have simply been a coincidence and Golden Eagle and Badger fans can direct their adversarial efforts toward the men’s basketball game on Dec. 11.
