With a background as a field service engineer, Thomas Miller brings a client-first mindset to his three-decades-long intellectual property practice, balancing responsiveness and clear communication with practical strategy.
“The most important thing I learned as a field service engineer was to provide prompt service to clients,” Miller said. “And if you can’t provide service immediately, make sure you communicate to the client that you have heard their request and that you will respond shortly. The worst thing you can do is leave a client in doubt!”
Miller is a partner with Husch Blackwell‘s Milwaukee office, where he focuses on IP asset protection from product development stages through to commercialization and corporate transactions. He helps to manage patent portfolios and maximizing their value. Miller regularly collaborates with executives, engineers and product development teams to align IP protection with broader business goals.
Guided by the belief that “luck is when preparation meets opportunity,” Miller prepares his clients to seize opportunities with confidence.
