Even after close to two decades in practice, responsiveness remains at the forefront of Shane Delsman‘s approach to practicing law. Delsman is a shareholder at Godfrey & Kahn where he leads the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice.
His IP practice focuses on federal intellectual property litigation, patents, trademarks, trade secret and unfair competition litigation, portfolio management, M&A and internet and e-commerce disputes.
Delsman takes his expertise outside the confines of client work by publishing regularly in addition to working directly with Congress on intellectual property-related legislation (some of which has been signed into law), pending legislation and proposed rule changes for the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
“Honestly, it’s fun. It’s fun to have a hand in it and see how policy becomes law,” Delsman said. “It’s interesting to be able to see all the different perspectives you might otherwise not see. Not only are there attorneys on both sides of any issue, there are law professors that have a say, and actual companies that have a say in it.”
