With a foundation as a product engineer, Kevin Moran brings a unique perspective to intellectual property law, seeing issues through the lens of solving a legal issue and recognizing business impact.
Moran is the co-chair of Michael Best‘s Intellectual Property Practice Group, operating from the firm’s Waukesha office. He helps clients through acquisition, enforcement and defense against U.S. and international patents, navigating high-stakes decisions by developing thorough, well-reasoned strategies.
As a firm leader, he guides younger attorneys to take proactive and holistic views of their client counsel.
“One of the most important things we can bring to the table is a sense of curiosity,” Moran said. “What was the problem the inventor was trying to solve? How did the inventor solve the problem? And what are the benefits associated with the invention? We need to ask the right questions to ensure the invention is thoroughly understood.”
Moran’s leadership within the firm extends to the Management Committee, the Compensation Committee and leader of the Advanced Manufacturing Team.
