Case Name: Office of Lawyer Regulation v. Vladimir M. Gorokhovsky
Case No.: 2022AP000183-D
Officials:
Focus: Attorney Misconduct-Disbarment
Gorokhovsky’s law license in Wisconsin has been revoked following a series of misconduct charges. Gorokhovsky, who was admitted to practice in 2002, has a history of violations, including prior reprimands, a suspension, and allegations of misconduct. The Office of Lawyer Regulation (OLR) filed an amended complaint in 2022, detailing 18 counts of misconduct, which were upheld after an evidentiary hearing in 2023.
The violations stemmed from Gorokhovsky’s conduct in various lawsuits, including filing improper legal documents, violating attorney-client privilege, and misrepresenting himself in federal courts. In several cases, he was found guilty of filing deficient documents, making false certifications, and representing parties without proper authorization. These actions led to sanctions by the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, including a $5,000 fine and censure.
The referee’s recommendation to revoke his license was upheld, alongside the requirement for Gorokhovsky to pay restitution to two former clients and cover the full costs of the proceedings, totaling $14,358.12.
