Mark Hill drives digital transformation through innovative legal thinking as Johnson Controls’ chief privacy officer and vice president and general counsel-digital. 

In that role, he manages the company’s privacy compliance, negotiates technology transactions and advises on artificial intelligence, cyber security, cloud product sales, data rights and other technology-related legal issues. He also supports Johnson Controls’ IIoT transformation, the process of using the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technology to improve industrial systems. 

Hill has been with Johnson Controls for seven years in several roles, including the past 18 months in his current role. 

A graduate of Notre Dame Law School, Hill served as lead commercial counsel advising for Caterpillar’s Global Information Services Division prior to his role at Johnson Controls. He also worked in private practice at Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren S.C.
