Taylor Alison Swift once said, “People haven’t always been there for me but music always has,” and apparently so is a Florida college student who Swift says, is tracking her private jet against her wishes.

According to a letter obtained by the Wisconsin Law Journal, Swift has retained Venable LLP who sent the flight-tracker a cease-and-desist notice.

According to the letter, the individual responsible for operating the (since suspended) Instagram account ‘Taylorswiftjets’ engaged in “stalking and harassing behavior, including consistently publishing real-time and precise information” of Swift.

Attorneys argued the conduct “poses an imminent threat the safety and wellbeing” of Swift.

As previously reported by the Wisconsin Law Journal in May, a Taylor Swift video (circa 2020) surfaced on social media taking aim at former President Trump. In it, Swift talks about being “on the right side of history” speaking up against former President Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 presidential election.

During the video, Swift and what appears to be her security detail take note that not only will Swift’s position against Trump lose a portion of her fan base, but it will also elevate her security level threats.

The Associated Press (AP) reported the letter was sent to Jack Sweeney, a junior studying information technology at the University of Central Florida.

During the AP interview, Sweeney said, “One should reasonably expect that their jet will be tracked, whether or not I’m the one doing it, as it is public information after all.”

According to the AP, Sweeney had more than 30 such accounts on X, formerly known as Twitter. He has since been banned by X’s CEO Elon Musk, who expressed distain over others tracking his private jets.
