Carol Weymier has only been at Jones Law Firm for three years, but she’s already made a big mark on the company.

Weymier is a legal assistant for the firm and is responsible for managing, processing, analyzing, and managing volumes of discovery.

“Her dedication to detail, coupled with her eye for what is truly relevant, speaks to her 17 years of experience that she gained working for probation and parole before joining Jones Law Firm,” said Russell Jones, founder of the firm.

“Carol is a liaison for clients and their families to help them through the legal process. She provides the counseling component that is frequently needed with the firm’s clients as they are typically at their lowest point in life. She understands the system and the fears faced by clients, offering a venue for clients to share these feelings and to be heard,” Jones said.

Before joining Jones Law Firm, Weymier had a lengthy career with the state Department of Corrections’ probation and parole office in Washington County, where she worked as an intake clerk/receptionist.

“For 18 years every person that was sentenced was sent to our office and my desk,” Weymier said. “I worked closely with the agents, clients, police and the courts.”

In her current role, Weymier works closely with district attorneys to gather information for Russell Jones in defense of his clients.

“Attorney Jones has over 80 clients and handles quite a few homicide cases, so the amount of discovery on each client is overwhelming, to say the least,” she said. “Tracking and reviewing all the paperwork is very labor intensive, interesting and challenging and keeps me very busy,” Weymier said.

“I am never bored. It makes me feel good to know that my work helps to keep things in order, knowing the client is getting the best defense with nothing being overlooked,” she added.
