One of the reasons that Casey Hoff chose to become a lawyer is that he wanted to help people during their times of need.

“Some of the people I represent are innocent of the crimes they are accused of committing, however they deserve and are entitled to a zealous defense just as much as any other person accused of a crime,” Hoff said. “Even for those persons who are not innocent and who may have made poor choices, I believe in the principle that no one person ought to be defined forever by their worst moment in life,” Hoff said.

Hoff is a criminal defense lawyer who has his own firm, Casey Hoff Attorney at Law, in Sheboygan. In addition to his legal work, Hoff often speaks to community groups to raise awareness about issues in the criminal justice system such as Constitutional rights, treatment courts and the need for fairness.

He has also authored several articles on legal topics for USA Today Network Wisconsin and other media outlets, covering issues such as justice, fairness and the benefits of treatment courts and diversion programs.

“Attorney Hoff is one of the most respected attorneys in our county and has the admiration of attorneys, judges, law enforcement, treatment providers and courthouse staff,” said Sheboygan County Judge Angela Sutkiewicz. “He is a zealous advocate while courteous and professional. His dedication to educating the public and promoting legal innovations truly benefits the entire community,” Sutkiewicz.added.

One of parts of his job that Hoff enjoys most is problem-solving. Being a criminal defense attorney involves a lot of outside-the-box thinking and finding solutions that may not immediately be apparent.

“Another aspect of the job that I enjoy is helping clients and their families navigate the often daunting and intimidating criminal process and the courtroom,” Hoff said. “Trying to take away, as much as possible, the stress and anxiety of clients, and then ultimately hopefully achieving a good result for the client, is extremely satisfying,” he added.
