Austin Baldwin traces his love for the legal industry back to his college days.

As a student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, he double-majored in political science and history. One semester, he took a class in constitutional law and, as he puts it, “I was hooked ever since.”

“It was meticulous and precise work that had certain procedures that must be adhered to, but as someone who is very organized and lives by a schedule, I loved the work,” Baldwin said. “I enjoy the mixture of politics and the legal field. I spent some time in politics after college, but after the 2020 presidential election and that election cycle, I figured I’d transition to the legal field and I haven’t looked back.”

Baldwin was hired as a legal assistant at OVB Law & Consulting in 2020, and later promoted to his current title of firm administrator/paralegal.

Some of his duties include lending a hand on last-minute matters, coordinating with clients, preparing drafts across litigation and transactional matters, and keeping staff apprised of upcoming deadlines.

“My role at OVB Law is very multifaceted,” Baldwin said. “All in one day I can be working on a civil litigation matter, a transactional real estate matter, an entity formation and structuring matter, a city licensing issue, an administrative matter, as well as being the firm administrator handling the day-to-day operations of the firm,” he noted.

“There is rarely a moment that I am not doing something and it’s very rare for me to be stuck on the same subject for more than two hours. Keeping it all together gets quite challenging at times,” Baldwin added

One of Baldwin’s colleagues, Samantha Baker, said that Baldwin’s work ethic is only surpassed by his commitment to serving others.

“When completing work he goes the extra mile to understand assignments, conduct further research without prompting and always delivers quality results,” Baker said. “His relentlessness for perfection is admirable. There is no task or assignment too challenging for him to complete.”
