A lot of has changed in the 29 years that Judy Janetski has served as the office manager of Fox, O’Neill & Shannon. But one thing has remained the same — her commitment to every responsibility that comes with the job.

“There is not a task I don’t like or task that I feel is unimportant — from year-end reporting and employee evaluations to file management and cleaning out the storeroom,” she said. “Things change constantly — new reports, new monitoring, new tasks — my opportunities to learn and grow are endless, and I love that.”

During her nearly three-decade career at FOS, Janetski has overseen technological changes, ensured the security of clients’ funds and information and managed complex human-resource matters.

Her experience and expertise came in handy when the pandemic hit in spring 2020. She oversaw the adoption of various safety measures in the office, including disinfecting surfaces, mask wearing and the installation of protective shields to keep employee desks separate.

Janetski also put in place work-from-home procedures for out-of-office attorneys and staff. Among other things, she obtained and provided computers, printers, scanners and other equipment.

“While Judy could have joined those temporarily working from home, she was at the office every weekday and on many weekends,” said Diane Slomowitz, a shareholder at FOS.

“Judy’s above-and-beyond efforts have allowed FOS to remain open, service its clients with the same quality and efficiency as before the pandemic, and keep its employees and their families safe.”

When she’s not managing the office, Janetski enjoys traveling, spending time with friends and family, and riding her motorcycle.

“My husband and I each ride, and I love the sense of freedom it provides as well as a little bit of adrenaline,” she said. “I’ve read that goals should both excite and scare you — riding my Harley does both.”
