2010 Up and Coming Lawyers – Publisher's Note

Sometimes it can be just a little too awesome.

We had so many nominations this year for our second annual Up and Coming Lawyers event that it was just, well, awesome. Then, after reading the nominations, it was … just a little too awesome. And I mean that in a good way.

Now, in defining “awesomeness” I admit it’s very subjective. But, not unlike the infamous Justice Potter quote, I think I know it when I see it. Awesomeness, that is. Even armed with the criteria we used for our judging process, I was duly impressed about the caliber of nominations we received, and want to confirm — for the record — just how difficult it was to narrow down the nominees to the final class of our 2010 Up and Coming Lawyers.

In the early stages of their careers, our Up and Comers have already made great strides in case law, volunteered their efforts to pro bono and other charity efforts, made a significant impact on their community and their clients, have provided mentorship to others and have generally been… pretty awesome. It was a joy to get to know the future of Wisconsin’s law leaders.

In addition to providing their background information, we had a little fun as we asked them some creative questions: “What’s on your iPod?” “Can you drive a stick shift?” among others.

We hope you enjoy their answers and getting to know more about them.

I look forward to watching our 2010 Up and Coming Lawyers continue to make their mark, and hope you enjoy watching them be, ahem, a little too awesome, too.
