Daniel Braznell was accused of salacious charges — the sexual assault of a 70-year-old, disabled woman — and therefore the media paid close attention to the case. In June 2010, a Waukesha County jury found Braznell not guilty.

It was an exciting victory for defense lawyer Anthony D. Cotton, of Kuchler & Cotton Law Offices in Waukesha, but it wasn’t his first. Cotton has also obtained not guilty verdicts and dismissals in reckless endangerment, substantial battery, child abuse, robbery and hit-and-run cases.

“Our firm has always focused on representing people in sensitive criminal defense cases throughout southeastern Wisconsin, both pre-charging and post-charging,” he said.

“It’s not just about obtaining a not guilty verdict. Sometimes it’s about mitigating exposure and reaching a compromise that everyone can be satisfied with.”

Cotton practices with his mother, Donna Kuchler, and stepfather, Gerard Kuchler. He joined the family firm immediately after law school.
