Philip Koutnik strives to be a deal maker for his clients, not a roadblock, focusing on what matters most to the clients while providing effective counsel. A partner Husch Blackwell‘s Milwaukee office, he focuses his practice on mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations and commercial contracts among other business transactions.
Whether guiding middle market private equity firms, first-time sellers or entrepreneurs, Koutnik’s goal is to develop relationships that extend beyond just legal counsel. He works to deeply understand each client’s objectives at the outset of a transaction, ensuring strategies are tailored, efficient, and aligned with business goals.
“The approach we take is quite similar regardless of the type of client we represent in a transaction,” Koutnik said. “Some clients have more experience than others in the transactional space. For those with less experience, we take the time on the front end of a transaction to educate them about the process and what to watch out for along the way.”
