Police investigating morning State Street stabbing, man in custody

Listen to this articleMilwaukee Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at approximately 5:31 a.m., on the 900 block of W. State Street in downtown Milwaukee. Authorities said the suspect intentionally confronted and stabbed the victim.
The victim, a 51-year-old, was transported to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries and is in stable condition, police said, noting the suspect, a 41-year-old man, was arrested.
Criminal charges will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office in the upcoming days, police said.
