Gov. Tony Evers has appointed John Remington to the Milwaukee County Circuit Court-Branch 6.

The appointment will fill the vacancy created by Judge Ellen Brostrom’s resignation, effective May 3, 2024. Remington will complete a term ending July 31, 2025.

Remington is a partner at Quarles & Brady. He began his legal career at the firm in 2007 as a civil litigator, and his practice has focused on unfair competition, creditor-debtor law and health care-related litigation. His clients have included health care providers, financial institutions and both employers and employees in cases involving unfair competition and noncompetition issues.

In addition to his civil litigation work, Remington has maintained a pro bono practice during his career, including work with the Quarles & Brady truancy court project in Outagamie County, representing incarcerated individuals pursuing section 1983 claims and handling termination of parental rights cases in Milwaukee County.

Remington lives in the Enderis Park neighborhood of Milwaukee with his family and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Washington University School of Law in St. Louis. In addition to his involvement in numerous professional organizations, he is an active member of the Milwaukee Rowing Club, the University of Wisconsin W Club and the Catholic East Elementary School Advisory Council.
