Clyde Tinnen believes he is an example of the old adage: If you want something done, ask a busy person to do it.
Tinnen is a business advisor and partner in Foley & Lardner’s Transactions Practice Group and Innovative Technology Sector, where he also serves as vice chair of Board of Trustees for the State of Wisconsin Investment Board, vice chair of Wellpoint Care Network and first vice board chair for the Greater Milwaukee Urban League.
“I believe that so long as I am blessed with the skill and stamina to juggle these demands, it is important to do so. My parents instilled in me at a young age that God gives us our gifts with the intention that we share those gifts,” he said. “My background, education, family and desire to achieve are all treasures that I have the privilege to share with my clients and my community.”
During his 20s, Tinnen participated in the Greater Milwaukee Urban League leadership development program, an experience he says changed his life.
“The tools that I learned and the people I met are still foundational for me. I was grateful for the opportunity to pay it forward by serving on the board,” he said.
In his practice, Tinnen advises fund sponsors in connection with the formation and operation of private investment funds, capital deployment, securities law reporting and compliance. He also advises public corporations in Exchange Act reporting and public and private corporations in negotiating and structuring complex business transactions.
“I am really a deal junkie at heart,” he said.
Andy Wronski, managing partner of Foley & Lardner’s Milwaukee office, said Tinnen regularly presents at business and legal conferences, sharing his knowledge with others.
“Clyde is a leader, not just in the law, but in his community as well,” he said.
