The Association of Corporate Counsel-Wisconsin has elected three new board members and a new group of executive officers.
DeAngela Luna, Timothy W. Schmidt and Pranav Shah will oversee the association’s Wisconsin chapter as board members.
Luna is assistant general counsel and assistant secretary at the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. She is a member of the Insurance Products and Operations team. Luna is passionate about diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal industry and the arts. She serves on the boards of the
Milwaukee Chamber Theatre and the Wisconsin Trust Account Foundation, and she previously served on the board of the Wisconsin Association of African-American Attorneys. Luna earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin and her law degree from UW Law School.
Schmidt works as senior counsel for Komatsu, primarily supporting the Surface Mining division. He’s past chair of the Corporate and Securities Law Network of the Association of Corporate Counsel and serves on the board of Sunbeam Kids, Inc. Schmidt is a graduate of Lawrence University and the University of Minnesota Law School.
Shah is general counsel at WEA Member Benefits, a Madison-based financial services organization for Wisconsin public school employees. His practice covers a range of legal areas including fiduciary, general business and tax law.
He serves on the company’s executive team and leads the human resources and business services teams. Shah earned his undergraduate degree from Michigan State University and his law degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
ACC-WI also announced its 2021-22 executive officers on Tuesday.
Anne Dorn, managing counsel of Direct Supply Inc., was elected as president. She manages Direct Supply’s compliance program and provides legal advice to various areas of the business, including technology and finance. She also supports the company’s innovation efforts and helps build, protect and manage the company’s intellectual property portfolio.
Dorn is the former leader of the company’s Women’s Initiative Network, a former member of the advisory board to Milwaukee’s Women’s Affinity Alliance, a former board member of the Junior League of Milwaukee and a former board member of the Southeastern Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Association. She’s a Miami University and Marquette University Law School graduate. She also studied at Georgetown University Law Center.
