A Walworth County family court commissioner will replace a circuit court judge who is set to retire this year.
Kristine Drettwan will take over for Judge John Race, who is stepping down after 29 years on the bench, according to a news release from Gov. Scott Walker’s office.
Drettwan, who was admitted to the State Bar in 1993, worked as an assistant district attorney in Douglas and Walworth counties before she was hired in 2003 as a law clerk by the judges in Walworth County. Between 2003 and 2010 she also worked as a circuit court commissioner and assistant family court commissioner.
