Family — property division — maintenance

Juan Guerrero appeals the property division and maintenance portions of a judgment dissolving his marriage to Paula Guerrero. Juan argues that the trial court erred by refusing to apply the “special circumstances” rule when dividing the couple’s property. Juan also claims that the trial court erred by awarding Paula maintenance and, alternatively, contends that the record does not support the maintenance amount awarded. ¶2 We reject Juan’s arguments with respect to the division of property and, therefore, affirm that part of the judgment. Although we conclude that the trial court properly exercised its discretion in awarding Paula temporary maintenance, the record does not support the amount awarded. We therefore reverse that part of the judgment and remand the matter to the trial court with directions. This opinion will not be published.
