Sexually Violent Persons — speedy trials

Juan Villegas appeals from an order committing him to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services as a sexually violent person. The sole issue presented is whether the delay of six and one-half years between the date that the State initiated the commitment proceedings and the start of the trial violated his right to a speedy trial and necessitates dismissing the proceedings. We conclude that, under the facts here, Villegas suffered no violation of the right to a speedy trial. We affirm. This opinion will not be published.
