When I am researching a company that does or could do business with the government, I often turn to FedSpending.org or USASpending.gov. FedSpending.org is sponsored by OMB Watch which promotes government transparency and USASpending.gov is a government site. Both offer a searchable database to obtain detailed contract information. The researcher can query the database by contractor (business) name, place of performance, contracting agency, etc. Both sites operate off the same software, but there are subtle differences. The “map it” feature is nice on FedSpending.org, but it appears the government site is more current. Each site also has a Grants database.
