Milwaukee Bar Association releases candidate survey results
The Milwaukee Bar Association on Thursday released its 2011 member survey on the qualifications of judicial candidates running for the Milwaukee County Circuit Court and the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Wagner, Conen each affirmed 23 times
Two Milwaukee County Circuit Court judges - Jeffrey A. Conen and Jeffrey Wagner - led the courts in facing review on appeal in 2010. Both were reviewed 23 times in 2010, and affirmed 23 times, without reversal.
"It's certainly gratifying to hear that," Judge Wagner said. "We all try to do our best."
Cimpl tradition brightens holidays
Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Dennis R. Cimpl is jollier than most at this time of year.
Cimpl annually suits up as Santa Claus for the Milwaukee Society of the Polish Center's Christmas party and also makes a stop at St. Francis Hospital in Milwaukee.
Milwaukee County plays waiting game
While members of the Association of Milwaukee County Attorneys and other nonunion court employees will avoid furloughs next year, the same cannot yet be said for court clerks and other clerical staff.
