Developers of $492 million transmission line are appealing a federal judge's ruling that blocks the project's crossing through the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife Refuge.

Three utility companies have the right to intervene in a lawsuit over a proposed $500 million high-voltage power line in southwestern Wisconsin, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals ruled on Tuesday.

The construction of a $580 million high-voltage power line between Holmen and Madison will continue after an appeals court decided on Wednesday to uphold a lower court's ruling on the project.
