THE DARK SIDE: What’s a library without a copy of Atlas Shrugged?
I don’t normally write moving picture reviews here on The Dark Side. And with good reason: as of a month ago, I hadn’t been to the movies since 1998.
Views from around the state: Don’t change money for CCAP, legal services
As the details of Gov. Scott Walker's budget plans continue to be unearthed, we're finding more ways the cuts could creep into our lives.
BLAWG LOG: Pettit on code violations; Bauer on jury instructions
The Residential Landlord Tenant relationship is controlled by two main areas of law: (1) Chapter 704 of the Wisconsin Statutes, and (2) the Wisconsin Administrative Code, Chapter ATCP 134 entitled “Residential Rental Practices.”
BLAWG LOG: Esenberg on King & Spaulding; Federal Evidence Review on new rules
I thought, for a while, about whether the title of this post was a bit too extreme. My subject is the pressure placed on King & Spalding to drop its representation of the House of Representatives with respect of the Defense of Marriage Act.
LEGAL CENTS: Don’t be shy with media opportunities
Madison lawyer Steve Eisenberg was talking recently to a store clerk, when another shopper overheard him and asked, “Are you that lawyer on the radio?”
BEV BUTULA: Read it Later and InstaPaper
I have been hearing a lot about Read it Later. Basically, it allows you to read saved web pages when it is convenient, even if you do not have an internet connection. It works in Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and on your favorite smartphone. ABA Site-tation has a nice step by step guide to using Read it Later.

There is one type of lawyer the profession has no room for -- the molly-coddler.
BLAWG LOG: A divorce in the defense of DOMA; DiMotto on jury selection; Blinka on Daubert
Ashby Jones at the WSJ’s Law Blog reports on a interesting turn of events in the defense-of-DOMA saga.
View from around the state: Certainty is worth cost of recount
The recount of the votes in the recent Wisconsin Supreme Court race is the right thing to do. Challenger JoAnne Kloppenburg, who trails incumbent Justice David Prosser by 7,316 votes, requested the statewide recount recently.
THE DARK SIDE: Celebrating Human Achievement Day instead of Earth Day
Friday is what the progressives call “Earth Day.” I prefer to celebrate my own holiday, “Human Achievement Day.”
