The Senate confirmed Rebecca Taibleson’s appointment to the 7^th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
The vote was 52-46 along party lines.
Taibleson worked in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Wisconsin.

The U.S. Senate confirmed Rebecca Taibleson’s nomination to a seat on the Chicago-based 7^th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Taibleson, who worked in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of Wisconsin, was approved 52-46 along partisan lines. Wisconsin’s two senators split their vote with Republican Ron Johnson voting yes while Democrat Tammy Baldwin voting no.

Taibleson clerked for conservative U.S. Supreme Court Antonin Scalia, who died in 2016, and for Justice Brett Kavanaugh while he was a judge on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

Taibleson replaces Judge Diane Sykes, who assumed senior status on Oct. 1.

The 7th Circuit covers the states of Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana.
