Former President Donald Trump gave a long-anticipated speech Thursday night in Milwaukee on the last night of the RNC, accepting the GOP 2024 presidential nomination.

Trump vowed to “Make Wisconsin great again,” giving a shoutout to Milwaukee and the Green Bay Packers. Trump said Wisconsin is going to have “a great team this year,” in reference to the Packers.

Prior to Trump taking the stage, his son, Eric Trump, and former professional wrestler, Hulk Hogan, sang the former-president’s praise.

Hogan said he has tried to stay out of politics but after what’s happened with Biden administration failures and the recent assassination attempt on Trump, he can’t remain silent any longer and that Trump is “an American hero.”

“The only person that can clean this up is Donald Trump,” said Hogan, noting when Trump was president there was less crime, a secure border, better economy and lower cost of food, which all went out the door when Biden took office.

Eric Trump condemned the defunding and persecution of law enforcement, saying Donald Trump won’t stand for it.

Donald Trump opened by saying, “Four months from now we will have an incredible victory.”

Trump also called for unity.

“We rise together, or we fall apart,” Trump said.

Trump opened his nomination speech by describing his assassination attempt in Pennsylvania last week, praising the U.S. Secret Service.

The former president reemphasized his faith.

“I stand before you in this arena only by the grace of almighty God,” Trump said.

Trump also said he will protect Social Security and Medicare.

“I will never stop fighting for you and your family or this magnificent country,” Trump said earlier in his speech.

Trump also discussed lowering gas and grocery prices, securing the border and ending international crises that he said the Biden Administration created.

Trump discussed the importance of stopping human and drug trafficking, as well as terrorists from crossing into the United States illegally.

Former First Lady Melania Trump smiled and waived after former-President Trump sang her praises. She did not speak Thursday night.

Sitting next to Trump earlier in the evening included some notable names, including country music star Jason Aldean; his wife, Brittany Aldean; and U.S. Senate candidate Eric Hovde.

Earlier in the evening, Kid Rock entered the RNC stage and began singing “fight! fight!” and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo attacked Biden’s foreign policy after the U.S.’ pullout from Afghanistan. Then Pompeo blamed Biden for Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Gaza’s attack on Israel.

“We can’t trust the Biden administration,” the former CIA director said.

As the RNC concluded Thursday, Democrats became more vocal about Biden stepping down.

Former president Barack Obama has privately expressed concerns to Democrats about President Joe Biden’s candidacy, and Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi privately warned Biden that Democrats could lose the ability to seize control in the House if he didn’t step away from the race.
