J.D. Vance accepted the GOP nomination as vice-presidential candidate Wednesday in Milwaukee.

As previously reported, on the first official day of the Republican National Convention former President Donald Trump tapped U.S. Sen. Vance as his running mate. Vance received his law degree from Yale University and served in the United States Marines.

Security remained in the spotlight both on the stage and behind the scenes as Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle was confronted by lawmakers.

Pro-Hamas protesters just outside of the Fiserv Forum checkpoints greeted RNC delegates by chanting hateful speech once again on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, a U.S. Congressman was assaulted by a Pro-Hamas protester.

As protesters became more aggressive Wednesday, police quickly arrived on the scene, which once again deescalated the protests.

Wednesday included a wide range of speakers from Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott to Trump’s former counselor Kellyanne Conway and Peter Navarro, former White House Advisor.

Navarro woke up Wednesday in a Miami federal prison, the Associated Press reported. Just hours later, he walked onstage in Milwaukee to an extended ovation after completing a four-month sentence for refusing to testify before Congress about Trump.

During Navarro’s speech he took digs at the Justice Department, calling it “the Department of Injustice.”

Delegates demanded the Justice Department to drop all further charges against those convicted of crimes on January 6 and broke out in chant Wednesday evening, “Let them go!”

MPD

On Wednesday, Milwaukee Police issued a statement about outside agency officer assignments. As previously reported, more than 4000 law enforcement officers from Tulsa to Baltimore are in Milwaukee this week assisting MPD.

Also on Wednesday, it was announced that a 17-year-old was arrested Saturday and charged with stealing a Chevy Tahoe belonging to former president Donald Trump’s campaign advance team.
