“We feel very comfortable that we’re working with the Secret Service. We’re working with 40 different law enforcement agencies,” Whatley said during an interview with Fox News. “This is going to be a facility where we’re going to be able to have 50,000 delegates and alternates and guests and members of the media, who are going to be here and who are going to be safe.”

Before the RNC even began, Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson said early Monday that two police officers have been injured requiring attention and multiple arrests have been made.

According to Johnson, a Capitol Police Officer sustained “minor injuries” and an out-of-state police officer required medical attention due to the extreme heat.

Johnson said two intoxicated individuals were arrested. As previously reported, bar closing time in Milwaukee was pushed back to 4 a.m. during the week of the RNC.

In a somewhat rare Oval Office speech, President Joe Biden Sunday night called upon American’s to ‘take the temperature down.’

“In America, we resolve our differences at the ballot box. Not with bullets,” Biden said, who recently called for the U.S. Secret Service to review Milwaukee RNC security plans.

On both ABC and CBS News Sunday, interviews were held with law enforcement and intelligence community experts who opined the Secret Service should revamp security plans for Milwaukee in light of the recent assassination attempt against Trump and Wisconsin’s open carry gun law.

The Secret Service issued a statement Sunday that existing security plans would remain without change, despite the assassination attempt on President Trump.

The increased security has sparked criticism from Wisconsin Democrat Senator Chris Larson.
