Milwaukee Police investigating fatal downtown crash

Milwaukee Police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at or around 11:30 p.m., just blocks away from Milwaukee Police headquarters.

The incident occurred on the 1100 block of W. Wisconsin Ave.

According to authorities, one vehicle was traveling westbound on W. Wisconsin Ave, at a high rate of speed when the vehicle crashed into the second vehicle, which was traveling southbound on N. 11th St, at W. Wisconsin Ave. The driver of the second vehicle, a 29-year-old was ejected and despite life-saving measures performed, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the first vehicle, a 23-year-old was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The 23-year-old was taken into custody. This investigation is ongoing. Charges are pending review by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office.
