Employment matters are rarely boring.

“The cases and situations I get to work on tend to be really interesting,” said Tyler Roth, an associate at Quarles & Brady in Milwaukee. “As you learn more about an employer’s workforce or a particular case, you also learn about people and the different personalities that make up the workplace.”

Roth first became interested in labor and employment while in law school because of the spirit his professors at Georgetown University Law Center brought to the classroom. His interest deepened while working with Quarles’ employment attorneys as a summer associate.

Roth spends most of his time representing employers in litigation and labor-related disputes. The remainder of his time is devoted to helping clients navigate workplace regulations and otherwise avoid legal risks.

Roth credits his success to the attorneys who took him under their wing when he was starting out.

“I learned so much as they explained the why behind what they were doing, and that continues to inform my practice to this day,” he said.
