Maeve G. O’Malley graduated from Marquette Law in 2023, joining the labor and employment team at von Briesen & Roper.
Although O’Malley was a rookie to Big Law, she came to the firm with a wealth of knowledge and experience.
As a criminology and legal studies undergraduate student at Marquette University, O’Malley interned with the Cook County States Attorneys’ office in Illinois.
“I was impressed by how well people working in public serve could carry such an immense case load. The internships provided me with a deeper behind the scenes look beyond what I saw sitting and observing courtrooms. I left the internship with a better understanding of what it takes on a daily basis to prepare cases,” O’Malley said, noting she also interned with Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee as a law student.
Initially O’Malley wanted to practice criminal law, but as she gained more experience, she confirmed her calling for labor and employment law after an internship in the U.S. District Court Eastern District of Wisconsin with Judge Lynn Adelman, noting she knew she wanted to practice labor and employment law prior to her internship.
