Jessica Kirchner believes that a proactive approach to employment law is the most efficient way to serve her clients.
“I often compare employment law to someone seeing their primary care physician – it is significantly better to get a regular check-up than to wait until there is a significant problem, because that will be much more troublesome and costly in the end,” said Kirchner.
Kirchner is an attorney with La Crosse’s Moen Sheehan Meyer Ltd. Her interest in employment law came after falling under the mentorship of Attorney James Birnbaum during a high school mock trial, whom she’d eventually became an associate for and worked alongside from 2005 until 2020 before joining Moen Sheehan Meyer.
Having represented both sides of the employment law aisle that includes for-profits, nonprofits, employers and employees, Kirchner believes her dual experiences enhanced her appreciation of issues her clients face, as well as the judicial process that follows.
Kirchner, in a full-circle dedication, remains active in mock trial coaching now as a practicing attorney, recognizing the significant impact that volunteering can have on a young adult considering a career in the law.
