A fascination with storytelling led Anne Bensky to her legal career. She credits her undergraduate degree from USC’s School of Cinema-Television with her transition to practicing law.

“I’m drawn to storytelling, and my screenwriting training is a perfect fit for litigation because we’re telling our clients’ stories,” said Bensky, of counsel at the Madison office of Jackson Lewis.

And over her 11 years in government work as assistant attorney general at the Wisconsin Department of Justice and in-house counsel for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, a diverse set of cases have impacted the way Bensky practices law and delivers those stories.

“All cases provide the opportunity to look at a company’s employment practices and ask what is going well, what are the greatest workforce challenges, and are there opportunities for improvement,” said Bensky.

Returning to litigation after joining Jackson Lewis, she is eager to continue using her innate curiosity to understand how and why her clients make difficult employment decisions that lead to their need for legal representation.
