Helping clients solve their problems and meeting their objectives is what drew Ann Barry Hanneman to practice employment law.
“It’s rewarding to work with clients. It’s always interesting to have the opportunity to work on the various challenges that businesses face,” said Hanneman, a shareholder in von Briesen & Roper’s Labor and Employment Section.
Hanneman’s practice includes advising clients on employment discrimination, negotiating separation agreements, handling sexual harassment complaints, drafting employee handbooks, developing policies, drafting non-compete agreements and managing wage and hour matters.
She also serves as legal counsel to management in labor and employment law matters, including representing employers in federal and state employment litigation and in labor arbitration.
Hanneman said most of her clients are private sector employers.
Hanneman frequently speaks and writes on employment law issues and also provides management training for businesses on multiple employment issues, including discrimination, equal employment opportunity laws including sexual harassment and the Family and Medical Leave Act, among others.
