Several roads into downtown Chicago were blocked Friday morning as police and SWAT teams surrounded a popular a Whole Foods Market near Grand Avenue and Fairbanks Street after receiving calls that multiple shots were fired, reports NBC Chicago.
Police told NBC at or around 8:36 a.m., a 50-year-old male and another individual had a verbal altercation outside the grocery store. The other person displayed aa firearm and began to fire shots in the man’s direction. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the left shoulder, police told NBC., who noted he was transported to a nearby hospital and last listed in good condition.
A weapon was recovered from the scene, police noted, according to the report.
