Unlicensed driver gets 22 year prison sentence for 2023 fatal crash

Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Jeffrey A. Wagner ordered a 22-year prison sentence for Juan Felix-Avendano after the unlicensed driver was convicted in a fatal 2023 New Years Day Crash, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.

According to the Journal Sentinel, the crash that occurred near 98th Street and West Good Hope Road resulted in a Milwaukee County jury conviction back in 2023.

Craig Schimming, 52, died in the collision, according to the report, which also noted an open bottle of beer was found on the driver’s floorboard, along with a beer can in the back seat.
