Jessica Lynott announces candidacy for Racine County Judge

Racine County Assistant District Attorney Jessica Lynott recently announced she will be running for Racine County Circuit Court Judge – Branch 3 in the 2024 Spring election.

Lynott is resident of Caledonia and has been working for the Racine County DA’s office since early 2017, where she has handled cases in Juvenile, Traffic, and Misdemeanor court. Presently, she is assigned to felony court, where she prosecutes cases involving sensitive crimes, drugs, and weapons.

According to Lynott, she has attended numerous classes and trainings in various areas of law, including criminal and civil law. Before joining the District Attorney’s office, she raised three children and volunteered in the Racine community.

Lynott noted she and her family are involved in a myriad of organizations in Racine, such as the Junior League of Racine, The Racine Bar Association, The Healthcare Network, The Racine Founder’s Rotary Club, and fostering education through Cops N Kids Reading Center.

Lynott grew up in Marathon, Wis. and is married to Dr. James Lynott.

Lynott is a graduate from Carroll University in Waukesha where she obtained her bachelor’s degree. She then earned her juris doctor degree from Chicago-Kent College of Law in Chicago.

“ADA Jessica Lynott is an experienced and excellent prosecutor that fights for justice on behalf of her community and crime victims. She would be a wonderful judge that would be fair and impartial in enforcing the rule of law as judge,” said Fond du Lac County District Attorney Eric Toney who also serves as President of the Wisconsin District Attorney’s Association.
