Romuan J. Moye criminally charged in connection to a child neglect which caused death

On Saturday, October 14, 2023, the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office issued criminal charges against Romuan J. Moye for neglecting a child which resulted in death. The death was discovered on October 10, 2023, on the 4100 block of N. Elmhurst Road.

According to a copy of the criminal complaint obtained by the Wisconsin Law Journal, at 6:15 p.m. on October 10, 2023, City of Milwaukee Police officers were dispatched to the address of 4160 N. Elmhurst Road, in the City of Milwaukee, for a dead on entry complaint.

The initial call reported that the body of a deceased twelve-year-old child was located inside the residence. The body was in an advanced state of decomposition, the criminal complaint states.

Moye was charged with one count of Chronic Neglect of a Child – Consequence is Death, one count of Chronic Neglect of a Child – Consequence is Bodily Harm, one count of Chronic Neglect of a Child and one count of Failure to Report Death of a Child. If convicted, he could face up to 82 years in prison and fined up to $45,000.
